This playful and exuberant blend -first produced in 1996 in memory of the family's beloved, yellow Labrador Retriever, Scout- begins with a base of old-vine Zinfandel and the addition of old-vine Charbono, dry-farmed Petite Sirah, and mountain Syrah, the result is a full-bodied, concentrated, and gorgeous wine, with jammy, ripe black fruits, sweet currants, pepper spice, and mouthwatering flavor.
