Herdade de Peso Trinca Bolotas Tinto 2016
Herdade do Peso is located in Pedrogão within the Vidígueira commune of Alentejo, Portugal. 160 hectares are currently planted and include 152 acres of red grapes (Aragonês, Trincadeira Alfrocheiro, Periquita, Moreto and Touriga Nacional). Currently, the Herdade do Peso winemaking team is led by winemaker Luis Cabral de Almeida.
This wine is a blend of 44% Alicante Bouschet, 40% Touriga Nacional, 16% Aragonez. After malolactic fermentation, 70% of the wines aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, the remainder aging for the same period in used French oak barrels. The wine underwent light fining and filtration prior to bottling.
This wine is intense ruby in color with aromas of vibrant red fruits and floral notes. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with smooth tannins and lively acidity. A perfect food wine with good structure and a long finish.
