Château Val de Roc Bordeaux Superior 2015
SKU WT VDRBS15
Val de Roc is the passion project of Laurent Valley, head viticulturist of St Emilion’s famed château Ausone. The sloping 5 ha Vineyard is located northwest of the famed village of Saint Ann mill on Bordeaux’s Right Bank and is primarily planted to merlot. Laurent combines a native’s understanding of Bordeaux’s Right Bank with a deep expertise from his work with Château Ausone. The combination of Ausone’s pedigree and Bordeaux’s exceptional 2015 vintage make for an outstanding value.
This wine is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Average age of the vines is 30 years old, and they grow in clay soils with chalky Limestone. Traditional vinification takes place over 30 days in a stainless steel followed by 18 months in French oak barrels.
