SKU CDI 9292097
Although its modern cellar was completed in 2005, the estate vineyards of Donnachiara have been in the Petito family for 150 years. Ilaria Petitto is the current managing director with the assistance of her mother Chiara. The estate is named for Donnachiara Petito, Chiara’s grandmother.
The estate’s winery is located in Montefalcione, an ancient small village in the Avellino province of Campania, Italy.
This wine is 100% Falanghina from vines growing in clay soils. After a soft pressing the juice ferments in stainless steel for 15 days. The pours straw yellow. The wine shows intense fruit and floral notes: pear, apricot and candied citrus with acacia flowers. The wine is dry and soft and light, balanced with lovely acidity that carries through a long finish. Pair this with pasta in light sauces, seafood and fresh cheeses.
